Hector started dancing at the age of 5 with his sister Margie and from there he continued to find ways to educate himself in dance. His education in dance has finally gotten him to where he wants to be. His BA from ASU and ProDVIDA Certifications has helped him become a Pro Ballroom and Latin dance teacher. ASU has helped to expand his knowledge in Theatre and Performance Arts and to teach High School students and adults in the Performance Arts as well as in Ballroom and Latin dancing. While working at these schools he has focused on learning technique and theory as well as to learn how to dance the movements in the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Levels, in all 4 styles of dance (American Smooth, America Rhythm, Int’l Standard, and Int’l Latin). He has taken all 12 exams with ProDVIDA since 2012 with Examiner Ron Montez. He scored “High Honors” on all 3 Levels & all 4 Styles. He is an Independent dance teacher who uses the DVIDA Syllabus for teaching as it is the most comprehensive syllabus for students to learn how to dance (for both social and competitive DanceSport). He personally use the DVIDA syllabus in Pro/Am competitions and showcases. • Independent Teacher since 1993 (Dr. Dance Ballroom & Latin School in AZ) • BA in Dance, Dance Research and Post-Secondary Education (Graduated at ASU) • Member of ProDVIDA since 2012 • NDCA Championship Adjudicator since 2018
